Spratters and Jayne / by Elly Mayday

To keep you warm..

I have been exploring different parts of NYC since the day I arrived. When my friend Stela came to visit, I became the tour guide in a town I had only just began learning myself. We stumbled upon "The Beauty Bar" in the LES and wound up meeting Rachael, the owner of a sustainable knit accessories brand called "Spratters and Jayne"

She offered me two lovely pieces that have been keeping me warm for the past week.  The company not only creates these beautiful pieces— but also creates work for artisans in the South America and India. Each one is made of hand spun and hand dyed yarn, these pieces are entirely made by hand! I love a nice scarf and really like how it can complete an outfit while also keeping you warm. They were definitely appreciated this week. Below is the grey mix Puff Cowl.

It's nice to have an item that encloses your whole head to help keep your ears warm.

The second scarf is the Charcoal Pomegranate Mix, I adore the touch of pink blended in with the grey and black, a nice touch of color in this fairly dark manhattan color scheme. This style is the Puff Triangle Scarf, it's a bit more flexible in the ways you can wear it. I prefer to let all the fringe show in the front. The texture and colors add so much to an outfit.
